Our Leadership
Jason Engerman Ph.D.
is the President of Playcology, and a former Assistant Professor of Digital Media Technologies and has been the PI of NSF ITEST Award#1849849 worked towards innovative research across game based learning ecosystems for students and teachers. He has published over 30 peer review articles on the use of digital games and has been the principal investigator for over 10 research awards. He earned a doctorate in Learning Design and Technology from Pennsylvania State University Department of Learning and Performance Systems. His work lies at the intersection of interactive media and underrepresented populations for the Age of Experience. As a researcher, portfolio manager and entrepreneur, he helps others leverage their passions toward advancing career opportunities and financial goals nationwide through executive coaching and speaking and research engagements.
Richard Otto Ph.D.
Dr. Otto is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art + Media + Design at East Stroudsburg University. He works to provide strong and compelling coursework that focuses on aspects of creative production and has enhanced departmental technology, including state-of-the-art multimedia classrooms, production facilities and high-end equipment for students. He earned his Ph.D. in Communications from the University of Memphis. Dr. Otto was the Co-PI/PI for a National Science Foundation ITEST Award that used Esports in STEM career development for diverse and inclusive youth. He also works as the chief technology officer for Playcology LLC in the capacity of technology integration for creative learning. His research focuses on STEM for Diverse and Inclusive Youth and the media production technology needed to tell the stories of students.
